Retna

RETNA was born in LA in 1979 and is now a well-known graffiti and mural artist who showcases his work in galleries and ad campaigns for brands like Louis Vuitton and Nike. His style is text-based and blends multiple traditions, including Blackletter, Hieroglyphs, and traditional graffiti, to create a universal visual language that resonates with different people. He uses both spray cans and brushes in his work to explore the boundaries between “fine art” and “graffiti.”

RETNA’s first exhibition was at the Contemporary Corruption Show in LA. He led one of LA’s biggest graffiti collectives during high school. RETNA currently resides and works in Los Angeles.
